Jacob Kornbluh, a Borough Park resident, a Jewish Insider National Politics Reporter has spent many months reporting on violations of Covid restrictions in the Ultra-Orthodox communities. Lockdown measures were taken due to rising infections. On Oct 7, Kornbluh was attacked while reporting on anti-lockdown protests in his neighborhood. Jewish Democratic Council of America & the Republican Jewish Coalition came together to issue a statement of condemnation of this attack.
