Historic B'nai Jacob is the oldest continuing operating Jewish place of worship in Central Pennsylvania. In its 115-year-old building, the sanctuary is similar to local synagogues in Eastern Europe and is on the National Register (US) of Historic Places.

Services are usually held on the first Friday of each month, as well as on the High Holy Days; and, are generally in the Conservative tradition. Historic B'nai Jacob does not have a religious school or rabbi, and no dues are charged.
