Bikkur Cholim is the Mitzvah of visiting the sick. Named in memory of a special 16-year-old, the Josh Klein Bikkur Cholim Society was established by his parents, who appreciated the services of a similar society in Philadelphia during his hospitalization. The Josh Klein Bikkur Cholim Society provides support for Jewish patients and families (regardless of synagogue affiliation). The Society coordinates visits to hospitals, nursing homes, and the homebound, provides kosher meals, and loans Jewish observance items to hospitalized patients. Anyone in need of these services or wishing to volunteer should contact Marilyn Klein.
