Harriet Jane Raffel

Harriet was a Harrisburg native and an alumnus of William Penn High School and Central Pennsylvania Business School. As a Jewish homemaker, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and sister. She was known for her culinary skills and made many wonderful delicacies, such as tomato rice soup, “carroty kitty”, and matzo ball soup. Even though she was a world traveler, she was a close friend to so many people in Harrisburg, and enjoyed playing Mah Jongg with friends. She was an active member of Kesher Israel Congregation Sisterhood, and a faithful volunteer helping with Meals on Wheels. Overall, she is remembered as a nurturing and caring person who was loved by all of her family and friends.

A Gift from --- Her loving son, David Raffel
