Even while our physical doors are still closed, staff at the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg/JCC are hard at work serving you virtually and making plans to see you again in person safely.
We will reopen only when we are permitted to do so based on the state guidelines and when we feel that we have the necessary measures in place to keep our community safe within our building. While Dauphin County is still in the “red” (closed) stage of the Governor’s three-phase plan for reopening, our staff, board, and volunteers are working on many measures, including but not limited to:
-
Incorporating new social distancing and capacity requirements which may include redirection of foot traffic, enhanced front desk measures, reduced building capacity, and pre-registration for certain types of visits;
-
Assessing the risk level across programs and activities in partnership with our newly formed Medical Advisory Team;
-
Enhancing cleaning and sanitation measures and procedures throughout our facility; and
-
Planning for multiple scenarios to ensure we are ready to safely open based on potential guidelines/restrictions we may encounter.
When Dauphin county moves to the “yellow” designation of the Governor’s three-phase plan for reopening, we will announce a timeline to reopen the Brenner Family Early Learning Center and offer summer programming for school-aged care. Then, there will be a continual process to determine additional programs and activities that can be reopened safely.
As we know more, we look forward to sharing it with all of you. For specific questions about summer programs, contact Lori Rubin; for questions about our Early Learning Center, contact Chana Tillman.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the JCC and restoring the level of connection that makes our community special. While we do not have all the answers at this time, we sincerely appreciate your encouragement, support, and patience in making the best of this difficult situation.
Sincerely,
Jenn Ross,
President/CEO
